Your First Visit
A comprehensive retinal exam can be time consuming. Please prepare to be in our office for up to 2 hours. During your initial visit, we will ask you questions about your eyes, your general health, and any medications you take. Both of your eyes will be dilated for the exam. Consider bringing sunglasses and a companion to drive you home.
Once you arrive at Forest Hills Retinal Diagnostic Center, you will be greeted by a member of our Front Desk staff who will obtain/update your demographic information and ask you for your insurance ID cards as well as a photo ID. A comprehensive Medical History will then be taken by one of our experienced staff members.
After being checked-in, our Ophthalmic technician will do a preliminary eye exam and measure your vision. They will check your eye pressure and put drops in your eyes to dilate your pupils. After your eyes dilate you will be examined by one of our doctors. Additional testing or treatment, such as Fluorescein Angiography and OCT may be indicated following the doctor's examination.
